Using HappyPaper
Step 01 — Sign the pledge
The first time you open the app you walk through three short pages: the promise (Less Phone, More Focus), the two daily appointments (planning at dusk, printing at dawn), and a pledge sheet where you choose your print and plan times and sign your name. Tap FILE & BEGIN and the app is ready.
Step 02 — Plan tomorrow at dusk
Open the app between 20:00–22:00, tap PLAN TOMORROW, and write your three core tasks for tomorrow. Two optional tasks are available if you really need them. Saving triggers a brief Slow Decision pause — a 10-second wait that gives last-minute regret a chance to surface. Tap FILE & GOOD NIGHT when the slip looks right.
Step 03 — Print at dawn
In the 06:00–08:00 window a notification reminds you to print. Open the app, the planned sheet is ready, tap ▶ PRINT NOW and send it to any AirPrint printer (an A5 receipt-style layout works on regular letter paper too). Take the paper, leave the phone on the desk, and let the day run.
Step 04 — Review by photo at night
That evening, back inside the lock window, tap REVIEW. Use Take Photo or Choose Photo to capture the marked-up sheet. Apple Vision OCR runs on-device, reads the tick column, and shows what got done. You can correct any row by tapping it before filing.
Step 05 — Browse the archive and export the month
From Home, MONTHLY ARCHIVE opens The Spool: every day strung into one continuous receipt strip, newest at the top. Tap a day to revisit the photo and the ticked rows. The export button turns the month into a single PDF keepsake.
