Using Ready
Step 01 — Begin with the boundary page
The very first time you open Ready, a boundary page appears. It tells you what Ready is not: not a prediction tool, not a diagnosis, not a probability machine. Read it once at your own pace, then tap Start Calibrating at the bottom. You can return to this page any time from Settings → About Ready.
Step 02 — Hold the orb to focus
The home screen is mostly empty. In the center sits a softly glowing orb. Place a finger on it and hold. A slow haptic pulse begins, the background dims, and the orb starts to bloom outward. There is no countdown — the longer you hold, the deeper the animation grows, but the result does not change. Hold for as long as the moment asks for.
Step 03 — Release into a state
When you lift your finger, the orb bursts into particles, the screen flashes briefly, and a state name fades in: Flow State, Charged, Walking in Fog, or one of the other six. A single calibration phrase rises beneath it. Sit with the words for a moment. Underneath, a soft Try Again button slowly appears after a short cooldown — present, but not pushy.
Step 04 — Send yourself a postcard (optional)
From the result page you can tap the share or copy actions to capture the state as a small state postcard — a static image of today’s status, phrase, and time of day (Morning, Afternoon, Evening, Midnight). Save it to Photos, drop it in a message, or just keep it for yourself.
Step 05 — Look back through the color diary
Open the calendar icon in the top right to reach the State Journal. Each day with a calibration is shown as a colored dot. Tap a dot to see the state that landed that day, and read the gentle “echo” cards at the bottom that describe how your recent rhythm has been moving. There are no charts, no scores, and no streaks — only color, and a few warm sentences.
