Summary

WishStamp is a small ritual app for turning moments into paper-style stamps. It does not collect personal data, does not use analytics, and does not contain any third-party tracking SDKs. The stamps you create live on your device and, if you are signed in to iCloud, sync through your own private iCloud database — they never pass through a developer-controlled server.

What we collect

Nothing is collected by us. WishStamp has no account system, no analytics, no crash reporter, and no telemetry. The developer does not have access to your stamps, photos, locations, notes, or any other content.

What we do not collect

  • No account or registration is required.
  • No analytics or telemetry SDK is included.
  • No advertising identifier (IDFA) is read.
  • No third-party tracking domain is contacted.
  • No data is sent to a developer-controlled server.

Data stored on your device

WishStamp stores everything it needs locally:

  • Stamp records and images. Saved in the app’s local SwiftData store (sandboxed to WishStamp). Stamp images use SwiftData’s external storage; older images may also remain in the app’s Application Support directory for backward-read compatibility.
  • Settings. Cooldown seconds, sound on/off, place-recording on/off, default capture frame, etc., are saved in UserDefaults for this app.
  • Onboarding state. Whether you have finished onboarding is stored in UserDefaults.

All of the above is deleted by iOS when you delete the app.

iCloud sync

If you are signed in to iCloud and have iCloud Drive enabled, WishStamp uses CloudKit to sync your stamps through your own private iCloud database (iCloud.app.asugar.WishStamp). This means:

  • Sync is between your devices only.
  • The developer cannot read what you sync.
  • If iCloud is unavailable, WishStamp keeps everything on the local device and shows a clear “iCloud Unavailable” notice on the home screen.

Photos, camera, and place

WishStamp asks for these system permissions only when you actively use the feature that needs them:

  • Camera — used only to capture the content inside the stamp frame when you tap “Capture”. No video, no background access.
  • Photo library — used only when you pick an image to turn into a stamp. WishStamp reads the image you select.
  • Location and photo GPS — used only if “Record Places” is on in Settings. With this on, WishStamp may read the GPS attached to the photo you imported and may request your current location once when you create a stamp, in order to show a place on the stamp. You can turn “Record Places” off at any time, and you can delete the place on any individual stamp from its detail screen.

Clipboard

WishStamp may read the clipboard to offer “import from clipboard” when you are on the home screen or the app returns to the foreground. iOS will show its standard paste banner when this happens. Nothing is uploaded — the read is local and is only used to suggest a clipboard import.

Network use

WishStamp talks to the network only in these cases:

  • Apple’s CloudKit, for your own iCloud sync.
  • Loading a preview image for a link you choose to import.
  • Reverse-geocoding a coordinate to a readable place name (Apple’s system geocoder), if you have Record Places on.

None of these requests carry an account or user identifier from WishStamp.

Third-party services

WishStamp uses these Apple services only:

  • iCloud / CloudKit — for your own private sync.
  • Apple system geocoder — for turning coordinates into a place name.

There are no third-party SDKs, no analytics providers, no ad networks, no crash reporters.

Children

WishStamp does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children. The app does not require an account and has no social, chat, or community features.

Your control

  • Turn off “Record Places” in Settings to stop reading photo GPS and stop requesting your current location.
  • Open any stamp’s detail screen and use the menu to delete its place.
  • Delete a stamp from the detail screen or the album.
  • Delete the app to remove all locally stored stamps, images, and settings. Stamps already synced to your iCloud can also be removed using iOS Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Account Storage → WishStamp.
